My name is Guy Dickinson.
I’m a 2008 graduate of the Department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University, where I wrote a thesis on the portrayal of hackers in the mass media. I am currently also a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU.
I work as a Network Security Analyst for NYU’s Information Technology Services, in the Technology Security Services group, where I work on a wide variety of projects, from incident response to web application security. Consequentially, I am very interested in online privacy, network security, malware, new exploits, and so on. Before (re)joining the NYU TSS team, I was a project coordinator at NBC Universal, where I worked on relocating MSNBC’s editing and playback operations from New Jersey to New York City. You can find my full resume on LinkedIn.
My other interests are diverse. I enjoy running, cycling, cooking, graphic design and typography, percussion, guitar, and audio and video technology. I have also been a licensed amateur radio operator since 2001, with callsign KD7TJJ.
